It all started in 2015, "Athiyan Exports" is our foremost company that supplies premium-quality coco products. Even till date, all our current exports happen through Athiyan Exports. As a new beginning, we extended our company in the name of SPM Substrates Pvt ltd in the year 2019, located in Pollachi, where it produces and export exceptional quality coco substrates to all the proficient planters around the world.
Over the past 40 years, our family had standard experience growing coconuts on our farms with immediate production farms to the growing medium. We are successful third-generation young entrepreneurs entirely focusing on long-term business. So as we started a new venture in the same industry to add more valuable products.
As we all know, Pollachi is well known for its tropical climate and accessibility of raw materials. The excellent and freshwater source is a counted benefit of the surroundings. Among all, coconut husk is the only available raw material for all the substrates. The coco coir and coir pith extract are used individually in different industries like mattresses, rope, coir mat, geotextiles, etc., and coir pith is used as a growing medium.
Currently, we are producing
- 150 containers of washed coir pith,
- 50 containers of buffered coir pith, and
- 30 coco chips.
We are planning to increase the buffered production by 100% from 2023.
We are in process of implementing the new pollution standards based on the guidance given by the pollution control board for the long-term and consistent business.
